Counseling Services
The first level of social and emotional support beyond the classroom teacher is with our school counselor. The role of our school counselor is to support our students in the many challenging areas of their elementary through middle school journey. This can include overcoming obstacles with academic challenges or social-emotional barriers that impede their sense of belonging in our school community. What counseling may look like:
- Social Emotional Learning: Classroom lessons on monthly themed topics delivered by the school counselor.
- Social Skills: Lunch bunch made up of small groups of students. The school counselor will guide peer discussions and activities based on social skill needs and topics.
- Individual Counseling/Crisis Intervention: One-on-one sessions with the school counselor to help your child work on personal goals such as managing emotions, coping with stress, or improving self-esteem.
Our counselor helps students to navigate the storms of anxiety, depression, or family difficulties and collaborates with their support teams to help them gain coping skills and thereby, a sense of self-confidence, acceptance, and belonging.
