Meet The Principal

Dear Mount Arlington Public Schools Family,

I am excited to extend a warm greeting as your new Principal. I recognize the immense
contributions Mr. Grillo has made throughout his tenure. Yet, I am eager to join forces
with the dedicated team here and continue the tradition of excellence that Mount
Arlington Public Schools are known for.
With nearly two decades in education, my journey has been one of continuous learning
and growth, beginning as a PE & Health teacher in East Orange back in 2005. In 2016 I
took on the role of PK-6 Assistant Principal in Hampton Township, Sussex County. In
2019 I also assumed the responsibilities of Supervisor of Special Services, wearing
multiple hats necessitated by the dynamic nature of smaller districts. From being the
504 Coordinator and HIB Coordinator to also having the role of School Safety
Specialist, I bring a wealth of diverse experiences to Mount Arlington, which I plan to
leverage for our collective benefit.
Beyond my educational background, I spent over 21 years in the New Jersey Air
National Guard before retiring in 2021. This unique experience provided me with
invaluable leadership insights, honing my ability to navigate diverse environments and
adapt to unforeseen challenges effectively.
On a personal note, my wife Drea and I have been married for 15 years, and we share
the joy of parenting our 10-year-old twins, Abby and Joey. As fellow parents of
elementary school children, we understand the whirlwind of activities and commitments
that accompany this stage of life.
I am truly excited to embark on this journey alongside each of you, as we work together
to continue to create a nurturing and enriching environment where every child can thrive
academically and socially. My door is always open, and I look forward to meeting and
collaborating with each member of the Mount Arlington School community.
Please be on the lookout for Donuts with the Principal sessions, where we can begin to
foster open communication and build upon the sense of community within the school.

Warm regards,

Joe Coladarci
